A Birthday Reflection:
I am a big fan of Diana Gabaldon’s books and the main characters in the book “take stock” on their birthdays. You know... they think about their life, they think about their bodies, and where they stand at the age they are at. I like this idea. So, today on my birthday I am reflecting.
Starting with health... I feel very healthy. I do want to start being more active, but I have started walking 2 miles a day again and that feels really good. I’d like to work up to running but that will take time on my own at night or in the morning... I don’t have alot of time so that will be a goal for in the future. I am a bit heavier than I’d like to be. I am only telling you this because I have decided to be completely honest! LOL other than that my body is holding up good no real aches or pains to speak of.
I feel that my life is headed in the right direction. I really like my job and I am learning alot about new things that I haven’t been a part of before which is exciting and fun. I feel very blessed to have the people I have in my life and other than wishing I could see all of my people more often who could ask for more than having so many people who are important to me who I love and who love me.
Everyday is a new adventure. Life can be hectic, crazy, loud, very busy! Truly I wake up everyday knowing that today will be filled with more joy than I will know what to do with. I am very blessed and I am very grateful for this. My husband, and kiddos make my life complete and I don’t know what I’d do without them... be utterly bored probably! LOL
I look back on this year and just have to smile because so much has happened. It feels like it went by sooooo fast! It also was filled with so much! I look forward to another year filled to the brim with fun, and excitement! Let the adventure begin!
Love to all my family and friends who help fill my everyday with so much!

A Weekend with Family
This past weekend was my Mom's birthday weekend! My youngest brother, his wife and my Mom came to visit. We had a good time catching up! On Saturday afternoon the boys were getting restless from sitting around visiting so we went outside to let them burn off some excess energy!
One of the little boys that lives by us was riding a scooter. Cody asked if he could ride it. The little boy let Cody ride it and he took of scooting around...
Then, I heard him crying. I looked up to see Caelan running over to Cody who had run head first right into a metal box holding a fire extinguisher. OUCH! I figured he'd have a little bump and a bit of a head ache but nothing major. I ran over to see if he was ok. Caelan was helping him walk back with the scooter when I got to them. I picked Cody up right as Caelan looked at his hand and realized that Cody was bleeding and he had gotten some on his hand. (So, much for just a bump) I calmly said, "OK, lets go inside and get you cleaned up..." Cody had heard Caelan say that he was bleeding and then started crying again. "I'm bleeding!" Of course some of our neighbors had just started up the stairs to their apartment and were looking on with concerned looks. I went over to Mom and gave her my key's... calmly explained what happened and can she help me get in the door. We headed up stairs.
Luckily I had extra hands because it would have been interesting get us and all our stuff back up stairs with a bleeding kid, but everyone helped out and it was not big deal.
I sat Cody down on the kitchen counter and started wiping away the blood to try to see how bad it was. Just a scratch. I put some Melaleuca Oil on it to disinfect it and numb it a little. Then got him some Ibuprofen for the head ache I was sure was coming. Thank You Cody for giving us our excitement for the day! :-)
He was actually pretty brave and was as always my tough little dude!

My Navigator
I found a new way to keep the boys (or at least Cody) busy while in the Car driving to and from the babysitter's house... I was looking for something to give to Garrett on Monday on the ride home. Something for him to play with that would occupy him, but that he couldn't destroy. I didn't have any toys in the car and he was bored and crying. I noticed the Albuquerque map that I had in my door cubby. It's laminated and folds up and I really didn't even need it anymore... Perfect! So I handed it back to him and he was happy. Cody then of course wanted to play with it.
So, I started a game. Garrett is telling me where to go... he's the Navigator... and Cody can be the Translator... you can tell me what Garrett is saying. You know cause he talks baby and I don't. ;-) Anyway Garrett got bored with the map pretty quickly and took over playing with Cody's toy cars and Cody took the map. He loved it. He told me to turn here and go straight. "Head toward the Highway Mom!" So, he has started being the Navigator on the way to the babysitter's and on the way home.
So, funny how something like that out of desperation for something to occupy Garrett would come up. He may get tired of it quickly... who knows! I think it's pretty cute, and kinda fun for me too!

My One Word for 2012
A few weeks ago I wrote about New Year Resolutions and how last year I decided to just use a "one word" to describe my goal for the year. Well, I decided to do that again this year because it worked pretty good last year. I've been thinking and I have finally decided on what my "one word" will be for this year.
Balanced
I have no idea where all and how the "Balance" will come, but that is my goal for this year!
